Moving to TOAS

The tenant may move in on the first working day (Mon-Fri) of the calendar month after 12 am. You may get the key of your room also during some other weekday, if you arrive later on the month. Please see beforehand can you arrive to the office during the opening hours or do you need to have a hostel accommodation to start with.  As you arrive to Tampere you may get your key from TOAS office during our opening hours, which you may see from our pages.

Your university may have some additional key services, if you arrive during the evening time. Please see the details for possible mentor/tutor student system provided by your Finnish university.  

Please note that you need to have your own bedding and dishes. See the details from the web pages, which services your student union may have.  

TOAS offers only non-smoking accommodation.

You may not smoke in any parts of TOAS buildings, in the study-bedrooms, in any shared premises or in
staircase in TOAS accommodation. TOAS makes every effort to provide the students a healthy environment to study and stay in.

Within the common areas such as kitchen and bathroom you should organize the cleaning with your co-tenants and you may use the Clean Home –instruction as your guide.

Keys

You get your apartment keys from the Housing Office the day you sign the rental agreement (if the first day of your rental agreement is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, then the key will be given to you on the first working day after that).  With the same key you can enter the common areas of the building.  Your key is your personal responsibility. Making copies of the key is strictly forbidden. If you lose the key, you should contact the Housing Office and a new key will be arranged.  The cost of a new key is 50€ .
